Yet another 100 Word Stories entry.

I have once again entered Laurence Simon's 100 Word Stories Weekly Challenge. The goal is to take a given subject and write a story of exactly 100 words. The subject for this challenge was UNDERPANTS.

Do me a favor and swing by his site to toss me a vote. I don't win anything other than the honor of being named the winner - oh yeah, and I get to pick the subject for the next challenge.

If you really think one of the other stories deserves to win... then by all means vote - but if you are even on the fence, go ahead and give me the nod. Thanks and if you haven't been listening to his 100 Word Stories podcast, you need to check it out.

031 - 100 Word Story Friday

Another fun exercise in writing and even cooler, another chance to talk about my dog... sort of:

Lou skipped along listening to his iPod. He was playing a song by Roger Miller called, “Lou’s Got the Flu” when it struck him that there are not enough songs with Lou in the lyrics.

Sure, there are artists named Lou – Lou Reed, Lou Rawls… okay, maybe not that many artists. Lou reasoned that his was such a good name, and rhymed with so many other good words – blue, Sue, shoe, true and well, flu – that it was just wrong not to have more Lou songs. But what was the solution? What to do? What to do? Write a few!

026 - 100 Word Story Friday

This is the first of what I intend to be a series of 100-Word Stories. The inspiration to include them in both audio and written format comes from Laurence Simon. I had a great time writing my first one and hope to produce many more. Here is the story:

Panting heavily, Lou bounces back and forth between the front and back seats. “Are we there? Are we there? Can I go?”

His nose is pressed firm against the window as he spies it from a distance. “There it is. There it is! Oh boy!”

A four-legged tap dance builds in tempo as I pull into the parking lot. “Come on! Come on! Hurry up!”

Lou bursts out the door spring loaded. “We’re here! We’re here! Gotta sniff!”

He runs to greet his friends old and new. “Hey Lucky! Hey Cocoa! Whoa there, who are you?

The dog park rules!
