You Can't Teach a Greedy Dog Sharing Tricks

whitetrashmoney.jpgClear Channel Communications is answering the call of the people... well, that's what they think they are doing anyway. Prior to the release of Toby Keith's new album "White Trash with Money," Clear Channel is giving exclusive access to download (uh, wait... I mean "listen") to four tracks online. It even includes a "personalized message to the fans" before each song...

The problem is you have to sit at your computer to listen. And the "personalized message" is a 17 second intro of Toby saying the name of the song - preceded by a 30 second Coke Zero ad.

If these guys want to do it right, they could release the songs into the wild via podcasters and get them so damn popular that his albums would fly off the shelves. They don't have to release the whole album, just a couple tracks. If this is their answer to podcasting... then they are worse off than I thought.
