Isn't a bit too soon for a tribute show?

wrestling_ap_benoit_195.jpgWWE wrestler, Chris Benoit, his wife, and 7-year old son were found dead in their Atlanta home today. The deaths are being investigated as possible homicides although police reported no gun or stab wounds. Benoit was a no-show for "personal reasons" at the Vengeance PPV in Houston yesterday as well.

The first thing that comes to mind is murder/suicide so I was blown away that tonight's WWE RAW show was replaced on television with a special tribute to Chris Benoit. If this was indeed murder/suicide, do they really want to be celebrating that?

Autopsy results are expected tomorrow when the story will start to make a little sense... it just seems to me that WWE should hold off until they have some facts. Unless the WWE folks have information we don't, I think they should have held off.

It is a little soon. He was one of the greatest performers ever and if anyone deserves a tribute show, it's Chris, but because of the audience, they should get the facts together first, I think.

I'm absolutely shocked. I really liked him and he was so talented. God rest his soul.

I agree, he was one of my favorites back when I watched it regularly. It is a sad story.

Well you called it. In the last half hour or so the news stories have changed over to speculation of murder/suicide. They think he killed his wife and son over the weekend and himself on Monday. Very sad.

If it was a murder/suicide, so what in terms of mourning the loss and respecting his career. Judging people by their final or worst act is disgraceful. Regardless of how his life ended, he put unsurmountable joy in the world, at the expense of his health and family.

They're not celebrating HOW he died. More importantly the information isn't available yet. Your presumption that it's murder/suicide--and you posting that presumption--is why you comment on this jerk-off site no one reads. Your opinion that if it turns out the deaths were caused by Chris Benoit that he shouldn't be tributed is a notable quality of a person who's opinion doesn't matter. Fuck you.

wow illfigure, you sure got all excited responding to a post you couldn't have read since no one reads this site. It's called logic, use some sometime.

Also, nice language. When does school start again for you? This must be your fifth or sixth attempt to get past third grade. Just an opinion.

On to the topic of the blog. I agree it was maybe too soon to do a tribute. It also turns out that he didn't deserve a tribute.

Hey illfigure (if that is your real name - haha) Hitler may have been a real peachy guy before the whole Holocaust thing. The bottom line is that a 'roid monkey that killed his wife and child should NOT be honored. WWE was wrong in doing it.

"and that's the bottom line" because another wife-beating 'roid monkey said so. (Stone Cold Steve Austin)
