Found: Good barbeque in San Marcos

First off, let me say: It's no City Market*, but it is the best BBQ I have found in San Marcos so far.

One of the most important things about any city is the cuisine. One of the most important styles of food is barbecue. After a bit of searching and a couple of suggestions from locals, I found Fuschak's.

Ron and I ate there yesterday and although I didn't sample much (I only had a sausage wrap,) it was very good.

I have been told that Lockhart is worth the trip if BBQ is my thing as there are dueling family restaurants that claim the best in the state. I will have to take a trip over there next time I am in the area.

* I just realized I never posted the photos from my trip with Tony D. to City Market in Luling, TX. I will remedy that later.

Fuschak's is ok, but Woody's on Hunter Rd. is much better. Black's and Crites in Lockhart are both really good, but I prefer Crites. I used to live not too far from Luling a few years back (that happens when you look for places to live the week your lease is up) and you're right about City Market, but a lot of people around here say The Salt Lick in Driftwood is the best in the area.
