South Texas turnaround
Jim Croce refers to a "West Coast turnaround" in his song, "Speedball Tucker." The idea is that a truck driver heads to the West Coast, drops his payload, and without any pause, returns to the East Coast. I did a mini version of that yesterday - driving from San Marcos to Houston and back again - six hours behind the wheel. It doesn't come close to my personal record of driving from Houston to just outside of Philadelphia in 24 1/2 hours straight, but it was still a bit draining.
One high note was that Lou shared the ride. I never make stops when traveling by myself, but as he seems to enjoy these little pauses so much, we make at least one stop. The highlight of this break was finding some really cool boulders for Lou to climb on.
Good times.

One day my friend you will be old like me and then you'll *have* to make the stops.
Sigh.
