Turtle World - My House, Texas

This is where Pennie & I go to relax. And you would be surprised how a little bit of wilderness in the big city can attract so many visitors

I've had the pond there for several years, but never paid it much attention.

The algae was impossible to control. The minnows liked it, and two tough old goldfish - but that was about it.

getting in shape (coming soon) As you can see, the water quality greatly increased and Goldie loves it!
The doves wasted no time in visiting the bird bath, while the sparrow (below) inched closer to Turtle World. In the lemon grass to the right of the pond, we now have two lizards living. This one is called Big Green.
His mate is this shy girl, called Little Brown. (I know - real original) In no time at all, the birds started making their way to the pond - there are six in this shot.
The sand proved particulary attractive to the sparrows as they started coming in larger groups Word must have gotten out because these guys LOVE the beach - now called Sparrow Beach.
cool colored one (coming soon_ Yet another guest comes by to check out the hubbub.
Pennie took this shot as he called for his friends. This little fella heard the call and came running. He joined in the chorus to bring in reenforcements...
And boy did they come... can you find the five toads in this shot? First comes toad love - then comes marriage - then come... well - you know!
What would Turtle World be without a turtle. This fella's name is Gulliver - because he really enjoys travelling. THIS is the life. Relaxing by Turtle World with all my new friends!
